Officer rear-ended on Hwy. 401 in Pickering while investigating other crash: OPP

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt on the aftermath of a major winter storm that hit the GTA, saying problems continue on the roads with very slippery conditions.

An Ontario Provincial Police officer from Toronto suffered minor injuries after their vehicle was reportedly rear-ended on Highway 401 in Pickering on Friday morning.

It happened in the westbound lanes of the highway near Whites Road.

Police said the officer was investigating a separate collision in the area at the time.

The officer was not seriously injured.

“Driving conditions are much better this morning but your full attention is always required,” the OPP said in a post on social media.
