Man facing impaired driving charges after woman struck by vehicle in North York

Police respond to the scene at Curlew Drive and Rialto Drive where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Thursday December 25, 2025.

A man is facing impaired driving charges after a female pedestrian was struck and injured in North York overnight.

Police were called to Curlew Drive and Rialto Drive, in the area of Lawrence Avenue East and Victoria Park Avenue, around midnight for a fail-to-remain collision.

Police said the driver eventually returned to the scene where it was reported that a female pedestrian in her 20s had been struck by a vehicle.

Both the woman and the driver were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver – a man believed to be in his 30s – has been charged with impaired operation and exceeding the blood-alcohol limit while driving, police said.
