5 men charged after fight involving tow truck operators in Brampton

Five men have been charged following a fight involving multiple tow truck operators in Brampton in October that resulted in three people being hit by a metal pole.

The incident happened on Oct. 31 in the area of Kennedy Road South and Orenda Road.

When officers arrived, they found three people who had been attacked with a metal pole, police said. Two of those were also allegedly assaulted with bear spray.

In a news release on Friday, police announced the arrest of five men in connection with the incident.

They’ve been identified as 27-year-old Rishav Chopra, 34-year-old Jashandeep Singh, 27-year-old Harmandeep Singh, 20-year-old Tajinder Chopra and 32-year-old Varun Aul.

Chopra has been charged with uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death, assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of assault causing bodily harm and two counts of administering a noxious thing with intent to cause bodily harm.

Jashandeep is facing charges of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and three counts of assault with a weapon.

The other three have each been charged with assault.

Police said all the suspects were released on an undertaking with conditions.
