An elderly driver was taken to hospital after a single-vehicle collision sent a car into a bus shelter in Etobicoke late Sunday morning.

Toronto police say officers responded to reports of the crash at Kipling Avenue and Redwater Drive at around 10:11 a.m.

Investigators say a vehicle struck a bus shelter, and the male driver in his 70s was transported to hospital by Toronto paramedics.

Police say no other injuries were reported.

One northbound lane on Kipling Avenue was temporarily closed to allow for collision cleanup, causing delays in the area.

Police later confirmed all lanes have reopened and the investigation is ongoing.
