The Finch West LRT is now fully operational after an extended closure Thursday that continued into Friday morning due to a major snowstorm in the city.
Early morning Friday, the TTC said once again, the line was completely shut down from Finch West to Humber College stations.
Shuttle buses were running to supplement service but were not servicing Driftwood, Tobermory, or the Sentinel stops due to a blocked roadway, the TTC said.
The line has faced repeated closures due to poor weather in recent weeks, including on Boxing Day, when a much smaller snowstorm hit the city.
Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow called the recent closure “frustrating” at a news conference on Friday morning, and said the city is working closely with Metrolinx.
“It’s frustrating. Line 6 is closed. I hope they can open faster. We do not maintain it. We did not build it. It’s a new beginning of this kind of model,” she said.
On Thursday, Line 6 reopened at around 10 p.m. after a nearly 15-hour closure.
The Finch West LRT first opened on Dec. 7 and has been in operation for a little more than a month.
