The city will see gusty winds and showers later today ahead of a transitional day to cold, snowy weather tomorrow. Bill Coulter has your seven-day forecast.

Toronto is bracing for a startling shift in temperature this week when a cold front brings bitterly cold conditions to the GTA.

Environment Canada is calling for a high of 4 C on Tuesday with periods of rain or snow expected in the afternoon.

A high of 3 C is in the forecast on Wednesday but the temperature will drop to -4 C in the afternoon, feeling closer to -9.

“Prepare your parkas. Wednesday night will see a much colder weather pattern emerge,” CP24 Meteorologist Bill Coulter said Tuesday.

“Bitter winds will dominate the remainder of the long-range forecast.”

Toronto will see a high of -8 C on Thursday, the national weather agency said.

Coulter noted that “more manageable” wind will arrive on Friday and Saturday before the city plunges back into a “deep freeze” on Sunday. A high of -5 C and a low of -11 C are in the forecast for Toronto on Sunday.
