A stretch of Yonge Street is shut down near Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood after large chunks of ice were spotted falling from two separate buildings, Toronto police say.
Police said they first received reports of ice falling from buildings near Yonge and Bloor streets at around 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
No injuries were reported.
Yonge Street remains closed between Bloor and Hayden streets but police confirmed to CP24 on Thursday that ice has not fallen from the buildings since about 3 a.m.
It is unclear when the area will reopen.
