Peel police say they have launched an investigation into a suspected arson in Brampton after several tow trucks were set on fire early Monday morning.

The incident happened in the area of Rutherford and Glidden roads at around 3:30 a.m.

Police said multiple people were spotted setting several tow trucks on fire in the area before fleeing in an unknown direction.

No injuries were reported.

“Police are investigating this incident as a suspected case of arson,” a spokesperson with Peel Regional Police said in an email to CP24.

“Preliminary evidence suggests the involvement of four to five individuals. At this stage, no suspect descriptions or identifying details are available.”

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
