Toronto police say “multiple” people have been arrested after demonstrators forced their way into a downtown building on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers were called to Elm and Bay streets shortly after 1:10 p.m. for a demonstration.
It is not immediately known how many were arrested at the scene.
Toronto paramedics told CP24 they transported two people with minor injuries to local hospital.
The group Students Supporting Israel was holding an event at the building.
In a post on Instagram, accompanying a video showing the aftermath of what happened, the group said, “Our peaceful event was violently attacked. There’s broken glass and blood everywhere.”
“We tried hosting a peaceful event - and were met with violence,” the group said in another post.
Police say their investigation is ongoing, and they’ll maintain a significant presence in the area.
