An 82-year-old woman who was struck by a vehicle and critically injured in Whitby on Friday afternoon has died.
Durham Regional Police provided the update on Saturday.
The woman was attempting to cross the street in the area of Brock Street North and Mary Street West around 1:15 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle, police said.
She was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre in life-threatening condition and died shortly after.
Police have not released her identity.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, police said.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are under investigation.
