Police are searching for two suspects in connection with an assault in North York last month that left one person seriously injured.

It happened in the area of Lawrence Avenue West and De Marco Boulevard, east of Black Creek Drive, on the evening of Dec. 21.

Police said one person was walking when a man and a woman approached them.

One of the men allegedly assaulted the victim with a blunt object. Police said the victim sustained serious injuries and was subsequently transported to the hospital.

When officers arrived, the suspects had already fled, police said.

In a news release on Thursday, they released images of the wanted suspects. One is believed to be male in his 30s, five-foot-10 with a muscular build, short black hair and facial hair.

The second suspect is described as a woman in her 30s, five-foot-four with a thin build, black hair and wearing glasses.

Police said the suspects were driving a 2017-2020 black Mercedes four-door sedan.

They are asking anyone with information to contact them at 416-808-1200 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
