2 men from York Region charged after police allegedly seize guns, ammo in Vaughan raid

Six guns, ammunition, a number of firearm magazines, and a silencer were allegedly seized during a raid in Vaughan on Jan. 9

Two men from York Region have been arrested and charged after police allegedly located and seized six guns, ammunition, a number of firearm magazines, and a silencer.

Investigators said on Jan. 9, members of the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force executed a search warrant at a building near Jane Street and Highway 7 in Vaughan.

Luigi Martellacci, 71, of Bolton, and Karima Premji, 52, of Vaughan, are facing two counts each of possession of an unloaded regulated firearm and careless storage of a firearm, three counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, and 10 counts of possession of a prohibited device or ammunition.

The charges have not been proven in court.

They were both scheduled to appear in bail court on Jan. 9.
